Because the wife’s on night shits, we have opposite schedules 3 days a week. The dog plays the 2 meals per meal card every day. We’ve learned his trick now though. Because he’s lost our trust, we’re quicker to not feed him until the other responds to the did you feed text then we are to feed him 2x.

I love greyhounds, but we have 3 cats right now so probably won’t be adding any new furballs to the menagerie for a while.

Ny greyhound has no prey drive towards cats so in that sense he would be fine, but that is a few hairballs. My parents have 3 dogs and 2 cats and it gets to be nonsense when house sitting and my dog that weighs more than all combined is added to the mix.

I’ve heard about that with greyhounds and cats. Sometimes I peruse the greyhound rescue listings which will sometimes mention the dog is ok with cats, but I’m not sure I’d want to chance that combo.

If they say they are fine with cats, they are 99% likely to be fine with them. It very easy to check to. Bring the greyhound to the house on a leash, let a cat out. See if the greyhound tries to chase, smells and ignores, or just ignores, and then there is your answer.
