My father and I spent a weekend in England at the start of our trip to Europe this summer so we could go to the Imperial War Museums in London and Duxford. The Duxford museum is located at an old airfield and has quite the collection of military aircraft. Coincidentally, the day we were there, they were also hosting a car show that featured the British AC Club. I got to see some really interesting and rare cars as well as the usual British suspects like that TR5 up there. I forget which plane that is, but if ttyymmnn sees this, I’m sure they know. I didn’t take notes as to what everything was, but I’ll do my best to describe the more obscure stuff.
I also got a ride in this De Havilland Tiger Moth and the pilot let me take the stick for a while so now I can say I flew a plane. We totally went left that time I moved the stick to the left. It was amazing.

the 3000ME is a great looking car, too. All those AC’s are. But, that one looks ahead of its time. More 80's than 70's.
That Ghia had me breathing hard and then the Alpine took my breath away. Incredible. I guess it’s an original British car. I kept hanging around it hoping the guy would offer me a seat, but no luck.

My brother had a car catalog from 78 and the 3000ME was on one of the first pages (figures as it is an AC) so it stood out for me anyway.
I’ve seldom seen the Le Mans. Let alone been in one. Damned.

I bet. I don’t know of any in the States, but I’m sure there’s one at least. These were the first I’d seen. Same for the Le Mans. The whole thing was one surprise after another. I don’t like the wheels, but that Alpine is awesome.

Golden centers is historically correct though, many Gottis on the A110 had that (or other colors, orange, red!) as well! What’s not to like?

These are too big, though. And the gold makes them look even more aftermarket. I don’t mind them as much on an A110. It’s hard to ruin that car.

Yeah I already asked him but he couldn’t deliver back then. The only Dutch guy having a Pao with one I know (online) did get it that way. Shouldn’t be that hard to make.
