The dumbest design flaw of the ZR1

Storing the targa roof panel is pretty much impossible thanks to that huge wing.

Kinja'd!!!

You’re supposed to stowe the roof panel from the back, and slide it down/forward like in this diagram I drew, until it lies flat. Works great...unless you have a 2' tall wing in the way!

So now your only option is to awkwardly stand to the side of your ZR1, cantilever the roof the long way in front of you, lift the roof 5 feet off the ground (not easily if you’re a shortass like me), then carefully thread it between the wing and hatchback without bumping/scratching anything.

Good thing nothing’s made of expensive carbon fiber! Oh, wait, no...

Meh. They obviously had a very different set of priorities for this car.

I bet it doesn’t get good gas mileage either, because of other design “flaws”

I don’t think practicality is the point of the zr1

Guess the tires cost a fortune and wear quickly too.

But taking the roof off makes every car better. Targa roofs already push the threshold of “too much hassle, why should I bother?” Making it even harder means you’ll never use it and won’t get the same enjoyment.

If you have a ZR1, you also have a team of servants to do stuff like this for you.
