My problem is that I love BOTH kinds of Smarties - the US (Necco) smarties and the rest of the world (Nestle) smarties. But we can’t buy Nestle smarties in the US very often unless we happen across them at some candy importer. I think Nestle smarties are SO much better than M&Ms.
edit - whoops, turns out US Smarties are NOT made by NECCO. They are their own company now (and were never made by NECCO)!

I don’t know that these qualify as the least favorite.
I think tootsie rolls and corn candy are on equal footing for being the worst.
And by worst... i mean my teeth fall out from being sucked out by tootsie rolls or cavities so severe, there is no teeth left from corn candy.

I haven’t tried those varieties, but if I see them I’ll grab them.
The kids seem to go for the chocolate first, leaving things like Smarties, lollipops and Dubble Bubble until the end; I know I did when growing up. But Halloween chocolate isn’t all that good compared to the more complex varieties we adults actually prefer. I’ll be happy to leave the Snickers behind and grab some Smarties when offered some Halloween candy...

No, the correct way is to take at least two tubes of them, empty them out on the desktop, and then line them up by color, and then count the lines of identically-colored Smarties, let’s say that is l lines, and count the one with the fewest Smarties in it, let’s say that is n Smarties, and then rearrange them into l lines of n Smarties, then eat up all the remaining Smarties that are not part of the rectangle of properly-arranged Smarties, and then finally eat your way through the l lines of n Smarties.
This is also how you are supposed to eat M&Ms, but it’s far more satisfying with Smarties because red M&Ms taste exactly like green M&Ms or brown M&Ms, while the different colors of Smarties have subtly different flavors.

Looks like I need to spend more time in Canada. At my last job I was supposed to visit Calgary and Edmonton, two stations under I was responsible for planning manpower and budgets. They wanted me to go in the middle of February. Sure, I do need to see how things working during some of the more difficult times, but seriously, winter in Edmonton? OK, it wasn’t Yellowknife, but still. This SoCal native remains firm in his belief that snow is something you visit and not something you live in, even though I’ve spent 5 years here in the Midwest...
