Fitting that the grille would be fake on a Joop that is effectively a Fiat.

I bet pulling into a dealership in a Ferrari gets your better service then my LS400...

They didn’t have any LS460Ls, so they weren’t too happy at the end haha.

It’s interesting seeing the psychology of a car salesmen. I’ve been denied test drives 2x by Subaru dealers, both times because my age(I would guess). I’ll say, the dealers were more than happy to help me when I pulled up in a E550 Cab over my LS400 though. The RX350 seemed neutral though.

Car salespeople have a crappy job. Weed out the tire kickers (with the goal of never letting a tire kicker waste delivery miles on your new inventory, or your sales staff’s time that could be better spent on potential buyers).

What makes a good sales staff is his or her ability to accurately identify a tire kicker. When sales are fast, such as for non-specialty cars, you need to do this very quickly in order not to lose business.

If I get the brush-off by a salesperson, I make sure to let the management know that they lost a buyer. I just did this while shopping for my wife’s Jeep. I asked the Internet sales if he could beat my target price, and he tried to offer a lower trim level. Without naming names, I courteously informed the GM that they played the wrong card, and their competitor got my business.

I can’t remember where I heard it but I like to tell them “Do you want a 50% chance I buy a car from you or 0%?”. Just because I’m 23 doesn’t mean I don’t earn enough. Then the dealer in Colorado/Atlanta that blew me off.. I will travel for the car I want. It doesn’t matter if I am in Tennessee. I think this is my frustration. I came in knowledgeable about the cars and what I wanted and got blown off. Luckily my local dealer is really chill but has a hard time keeping cars in stock. Oh well.
