Beautiful day today, so we took the Sumchaser for some errands.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

I saw this out at the hardware store after I parked the Sunchaser - always nice to have a Toyota family reunion.. Then I saw a beauty who may not be a part of the family, but shares the manual transmission theft deterrent system.

Kinja'd!!!

I hope you are all well this Sunday.

I have a feeling that in 5 years I’ll be looong at AW11 prices and kicking myself for not buying one now

I don’t Oppo as often as I used to, so I missed this post when it was first put up.

I had an opportunity to buy an AW11 MR2 nearly identical to the top two pics a couple of weeks ago. It had just over 25k original miles, and the guy wanted $8500 for it.

The car was in Ohio, so naturally it was infested with the tinworm on all parts below the engine. I also happened to pick up on a paint run on the right rear quarter panel while the guy was telling me about how the car had never been in an accident and was all original. When I asked about the paint run (and then realized the pinstripe was missing), I then learned that maybe it might’ve been involved in an accident but it was a tiny one and that’s where they fixed it.

Subsequent pictures which were eventually posted of the car showed that pinstripe again, and I think he got some of the haze on the bumpers cleaned up a little too. It kept gnawing at me...$8500 for an MR2 with 25k miles isn’t a bad deal...and the guy kept hollering after me as I walked away, “I can work with you on that price.”

I’m pretty sure the car sold. I don’t see it anymore when I drive by the place. Still, I get the feeling I dodged a bullet.
