As per the original Jalopnik article, “It shoots flames from its exhaust. Which is good. Not enough cars do that from the factory” . And it was announced in Dubai....This sounds like an excellent plan. Dubai was the right place, they love that sorta thing.
GM has the perfect car to take on those Italians in the richest and hottest place on Earth.

Those puny FWD chassis would implode. At most they shove it in a CTS or CT6 and make a V+. Great way to launch a tier above V, then we can get an ATS-V+ with a NA V8.

Who said anything about realistic? It’s never going to happen. But it could*. Never mind the chassis in it’s current state, you’re adding 617hp... you can afford to beef it up a little.
*Do not confuse with “should”. Chevy should not build this, it’s financially idiotic. But SOMEONE should do it...
