The Vauxhall Astra \ Opel Kadett which these cars basically are, were European Car of the Year in 1985 and did come in some decent versions..........

My mum had one just this one below for years, it is even the same colour as ours, with a towbar and mud flaps. We had it for years and about 100k miles, only every needed normal servicing, brakes etc and it towed our caravan all over Europe on holidays (as my dad wasn’t allowed to put a towbar on his company cars!) -

The boring car we got twice.

First as the Vauxhall Astra and the saloon called the Astra Belmont (we had one in blue).

Then Daewoo brought it back as the Daewoo Nexia.

I’m not sure. I’d have to look it up. Daewoo left Europe when they were bought by GM and turned into Chevrolet Europe (who have also since left Europe).

According to Wiki it’s still on sale in Uzbekistan.

Though the current Nexia looks to be a Chevy Aveo saloon.
