And guess what? Someone in my house did it.
Someone made an account last night then decided to buy an iPhone 6 from a vendor on Amazon. They used the name of my previous tenant and my address. The order shipped today and will arrive at my house.
To the best of my ability, I can only conclude that my current tenant did this. My previous tenant has no reason to ship it to my house. She already has her own place to live and she has a restraining order against her. Also, why would she make up a different last name?
Likewise, my tenant had been obsessing over iPhones for the past week, so it’s a mighty strange coincidence that someone would steal my debit card and ship an item to my house using that same money.
Now, I’m going to get the money back in less than 12 hours. The iPhone will be delivered within a few days.
As for my tenants, they’re probably going to be arrested.

The last thing you needed was more shit piled onto the heap, but I’m glad you were able to figure it out and get a resolution.
Hopefully if you get a new roommate they’ll prefer cleaning and baking over harassment and theft.

Agreed. We moved in this tenant to leverage out the other one. Surprisingly, they passed the background check...but obviously people are more than meets the eye. Obviously, they just haven’t been caught yet.

I’m with Sir Halffast. Sounds like your luck with roommates (or as I call it, the roommate lottery) hasn’t been the best. Here’s hoping things start looking up.

Roommates are never good. My older sister went through multiple roommates because so far every last one uses her stuff and treats her and her stuff like shit. Same for her current roommate, why can’t there be decent people like us? Just room with a Jalop who knows shit about Smart cars and is chill.

Is your house configured for housing tenants? The only configuration I’d consider is an efficiency apartment with a separate entrance, separate kitchen, separate bath, etc. Really, renting out a spare bedroom is the ultimate form of trust and I’ve found that the only people I trust that much are people I’ve known for a long time. Everyone else can just forget it. One bad roommate taught me that lesson.

It isn’t since it’s my dream home and all. I guess both my mum and I felt that we’d fill one of the bedrooms so that I’m not on a large dead end property by myself and have some extra cash to spend on my projects. After these two nightmares (which are happening at the same time) I welcome living by myself. The security system will give me a sense of ease I wouldn’t have had before.
