Car Art - Opinion's Sought II (Tell me what to buy Oppo)

Hi Everyone, let me know if I’m spamming Oppo, but I figure, it’s Friday and car stuff is fun! So whatever!

Thanks for your input earlier, good feedback on the question I proposed.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

After perusing my local Craigslist, I found two candidates that were a) cheap enough and b) cool enough.

Help me choose which to clean up and resell. Any ideas on what to do with them are welcome.

Item 1) 1950's Chrysler Hood Ornament, pretty cool. $30 bucks, so the cheapest item, and probably easiest to flip.

Option 2: Mid 1960's Mustang valve covers. They say “Powered by Ford” and are blue! Also have a nice patina that I could keep by tidying and clearcoating, or just sandblast and repaint. These are about $50.00 so about as much as I’m willing to gamble on this venture.

Hood ornament. The average joe could see some appeal in that, whereas the valve covers would really only appeal to someone who likes Fords, plus the ornament is cheaper and more interesting.

Good points! I agree.

The valve covers would clean up pretty good and I think that they’d sell better to the right buyer due to the “Powered by Ford”

Hood Ornament. Absolutely. Sandblast and polish it and it will become art.

Valve cover desk lamps, wall sconces, coat racks, and shelves are always cool and would probably sell quick. Bonus with the valve covers is that there are two of them so you can sell separately.

as im an idiot... i’d go with the valve covers... stick a hot/cold tap through the holes and attach that thing to a sink...

it aint art... its home improvement :p

Hood Ornament first because they are badass

I would say to the V/Cs too, but they are kinda meh to sell afterward unless the art on them is super cool.
