The number confuses me. SCORE, the sanctioning body for Baja, doesn’t use four digit numbers, that’s a Best In The Desert thing. Why did they put on a BITD number for a SCORE event?

Yeah, they usually say call ahead, but its not too big a deal to just go through the gate and knock on the shop. They are looking for a better place and they need it. They are a little cramped in that shop right now.

It’s actually pretty funny/weird. SCORE has used three digit numbers since back in the 70s. When BITD was forming SCORE told BITD that if BITD used SCORE’s numbering system, or the term “Trophy Truck” (which was trademarked), SCORE would sue BITD. That’s why BITD went to four digits in the first place, and called Trophy Trucks “Trick Trucks.” Now apparently SCORE is using BITD’s exact numbering system, at least for some classes (the 8100 range had always been for Stock Full in BITD).
I wonder if BITD can finally call them Trophy Trucks now...

Just had a good idea: I should paint my 4Runner the same.
And a better idea: I should let the kids do it for me! Yes, this is good. But it will have to wait for spring because winter just rolled in and I’m afraid the kids would freeze to death trying to paint in this wind. Then I’d be stuck with half a livery and no one to finish it...
