I have to say, these guys know how to run a recall. Simple easy to use web form that helps you identify your product, and gets you all set up to be shipped a replacement. Takata and the auto makers could learn a lot from this. Not that they will bother.

It was on my mind, as I was one of two people tasked to check all of the fire extinguishers in the machine shop today in response to the recall... one of the joys of being low man on the safety committee...

40 million in the recall, too. Though, it does stretch back to 1973, so I doubt they will see quite that many returned.
They do seem to be handling it well so far though.

I’ve got a 2011-made FX5 II which I guess isn’t part of the recall (only listed for 2012 and later).
The 2014-made FA10G that’s been rattling around in the back of the crown vic is included, though. Thanks for the tip!
All the others laying around are not Kidde brand.
