I’d take an offer for a Cruze hatch or a Sonic (the little box I drive for work is growing on me) or a Camaro. But a Malibu. A “new” 2017 Malibu when the 2018s are coming out? Now you’re insulting me.

What about a Volt? Rented a first gen and like it more than I thought I would ....

A Volt or Bolt would be neat. But I have no money, so it’s not happening.

They don’t have lease offers/rate specials for those things? They probably are not flying off the lots ...

I think you overestimate how much “no money” is. I’ve got to get my six month emergency fund back up, then I can start going into the frivolous purchases.

84 month financing? Did Chevy hire a real estate agent to their finance department?

I have a 2017 Malibu as a rental right now. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but, I actually kinda like it. It’s comfortable, drives well as a commuter car, gas mileage is great, the infotainment deal is simple and straightforward. Maybe coming from a car 20 years older, anything new seems great....

I mean, in seven years, are you going to regret buying a Malibu?
Yes.

I’m currently driving a Chevy Sonic for work. I can totally see why people buy them.

To this day I still her emails from Priority Hyundai with offers on new and exciting Sonata deals as well as service reminder emails and even a 1 year ownership anniversary - all on a vehicle I purchased then refused to take possession of the keys because they tried hiding the fact that the Track edition they sold me was actually a GT.

We currently have an Elantra GT. Not gonna lie, I’d probably buy a new Hyundai or Kia.

Wow, that looks like an Audi, or maybe a BMW. Chevy really stepped up their game with that bad mama jamma.

Dammit, I wanted to make a comment about how I’d take an elantra GT but I’d rather the Stinger GT but wtf is wrong with that face. I genuinely want to want this car. It’s the anti BMW and Audi, the true underdog to upset. But that face, I think 3 people designed it. I think tomorrow I need to sit down and design a better stinger face, send it to Kia and have them use it as their facelift model.

If Chevy made a RWD small sedan, with a manual and the 3.6 V6 that sounded like the Camaro in sport mode, I’d be finding a way to buy a Chevy. Until then, I couldn’t care less.

If it was a deal on a Camaro, you’d also likely be stuck with in stock stuff, so turbo 4 (V6 if you were lucky), boring color, automatic transmission, and nothing else you’d really want.
Source: I had to order the correct Camaro configuration because of this exact thing.

I had one as a service loaner, too. I genuinely liked it, a lot. The steering was great, it was comfortable, and for being so underpowered, it could pick up speed a lot better than I expected. I exited a corner nearby that I like, after doing about double the yellow recommended speed and then proceeded to punch the throttle on the exit. 80 came up very quickly and I was then going around another corner.
