I just got a new RF-1200 this spring too. That said, STG is awesome, especially since their rewards program works on slicks. Once you factor that in, they’re the best place to buy them from.

Nice! Love my RF-1200 (especially the fit), but after my highside-ish crash at BFR on labor day weekend - I decided having two helmets is a good idea.
I buy my slicks from the local track guys. So, im saving my “rewards” up for a new suit in the spring (also something i decided after my crash it would be good to have a backup).

Good stuff. Are you considering one of the airbag suits? I like the idea of the Alpinestars one, but not the price.

I agree, the idea is awesome but it is simply too expensive right now. I currently use a 2 piece AlpineStars Motegi. When I bought it, I was still riding on the street.
Now that I have the track/club racing needle buried deep in my arm,(none of my bikes are street legal anymore) I’m going to get a one piece, probably an Astars Missile (which seem like quite the bargain at 999) or a GP-Plus.
Edit: IMO the money is better spent on good neck, back, and chest protectors.

My suit is one of the mid-range Alpinestars models, was around $1200 a few years ago. It took a weekend of riding in very hot weather to break in, now it fits great. Looks like all of last year’s models are on closeout, because all of the new ones support the airbag system. Tough call there.
I found that I feel a lot cooler with a solid white helmet and mostly white suit, especially on a very sunny day.

Oh yeah on the heat part. I will never buy an all black suit again.
