I don’t see an issue. Parents pay for a first car for their teenager, that’s completely normal. If anything, I think it’s wrong when parents that definitely have the financial means to pay for a car, even a cheaper one, make their kids pay for a first car. Those other commenters seem to be acting like your first car was a 2015 Audi S5.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with either side of it. I get the merits of buying your kid a car, and the merits of making the kid pay for one themselves.
I certainly came across as more of a snob than I meant to, but it was intended as sarcasm.

Note that Hacker’s Keyboard is kinda shit to use as your actual keyboard (it’s a hack of the Gingerbread - as in Android 2.3 - stock keyboard), but you can switch on the fly to it when you need a Ctrl key, and then back to your normal keyboard, with that little keyboard icon whenever you’re in a text field.
