Today I had to take my mom’s 2009 ML350 in to Ray Catena’s over in Edison, NJ to fix some recalls with some broken seals in the rear taillights that leaks water (which explains why the rear SAM isn’t working and why the tailgate wasn’t before my dad banged on the motor). Anyways, while I was there I got photos of some interesting cars and almost got a photo of a Smart with Mercedes badges, but then didn’t (sorry Miss Mercedes):
Start off strong with one of my all-time favorite cars, a Mercedes CL-Class, more specifically a CL63 AMG (Old S-Class Coupe)
My dad is actually considering buying a C300 like that one, and he liked that one and it’s price, so, fingers crossed!
TBH, I didn’t know this thing existed

First of all, I complained enough that new C class feels so cheap and chintzy that the dealership has me notated as nothing below an E class or ML for a loaner. Upon further thought, maybe because it doesn’t feel like an overweight bank vault with tires attached to it, or maybe beucase they’re typically Lease specials? I ordered and bought my parents a GLC a few months ago, and it doesn’t feel chintzy like the c class does; except for the small center console screen.
Don’t get an illuminated star. Just...don’t. I never see them on E or S classes. It’s always on some CLA or C class.

I refuse to call the CLA a Mercedes. I think it just doesn’t feel as bank vault solid as an E class. I had an E class on my last service, and even that was a bit weird to drive, as the steering felt overboosted.

I believe the illuminated star is all but unavailable on S-classes and other higher-end models because the radar-based adaptive cruise control would be installed there which precludes illumination.

THIS! Compared to my S600, the steering was ridiculously light. I put mine in sport + which helped a bit, but it was really weird.
