New car for the fiancee. Got a pretty damn good deal on it and it was tough to pass up. Loaded 2010 SEL with 100k on the clock for $4500. What do you guys think?

Not sure which engine, but time to do timing belt/water pump if not already done. But yeah, great deal.

This one runs a chain, so it should be good. But we are dropping it off at the dealer for the recalls, so we will have them have a look to see what they think.

Nice. These are pretty nice cars, and handsome to boot. It’s an American Camry but that’s not a bad thing.

My parents had a 2010 SEL V6, went strong for 210k miles. The transmission started to feel slippy when he was driving back to MI from Boston in the mountains of western MA. Scared him enough, so they just traded it in for a Nissan pathfinder in August. The irony there is a slipping transmission made him buy a new car, and he bought one with a CVT...

Solid car and chassis. Never really had any down time, so that’s good.

There’s should still be a service interval. Chains might last 200,000 miles but tensioners, guides, and idler pullies don’t.

A budy of mine learned that the hard way with his Audi A4. At 150,00 miles a Chain tensioner stopped doing its job and caused the engine to eat itself.

Yeah That’s what I’ve heard but I’ve only driven a v6 model loaded and it was a great cruiser

Beware the transmission and the A/C. I have 2012 SEL 2.5, and the transmission doesn’t always have the smoothest shifts, or want to shift at all. Took it to the dealer and they said it’s just the way it is, and that I could pay $300 for a TCM re-flash, but that it wouldn’t do much.

And the A/C system in these cars seem to draw too much power. I’ve had to replace a blower motor, blower control module, and melted connectors. All fairly cheap and easy fixes. But it’s a pain to have to do it in the first place lol.

Aside from those two issues, it’s been a great car. Does your fiancee’s have the 12 speaker Sony system? I was surprised at just how well that thing bumps.

Thanks for the info! I don’t think it has the Sony system, but I can’t say for sure. I will definitely post more once I find more out

Great choice! It’s literally Ford’s version of the Mazda6, which isn’t a bad thing. Pretty reliable and safe, and it can be sporty with a few choice upgrades.

Oh boy, they will give you a list. And why don’t they make them all with chains? Also, if V6, almost certainly not an interference engine.

Enjoy it - great looking car!

Definitely expecting a lengthy one lol. This one is the 2.5 4 banger, also not an interference engine

Honda inline 4s are - you can wreck the valves. So nice to hear it’s a chain.
