Kinja'd!!!

The Answer. These are quite rare here as Mazda never had a real presence in the Brazilian market and most were private imports.

Seemed to be in very good shape but a bit dirty and was driven by an older gentleman in a leather jacket (I’m guessing the original owner).

Don’t imports there have a mega-high tariff on everything?

Yeah, we basically pay between 2x to 3x more for most things. But this was probably imported in the 1990's, so it makes sense.

I actually saw two different NA Miatas in São Paulo in the past month. Needless to say, I was taken by surprise both times. Had only ever seen a handful roaming our streets prior to that.

I’ve only seen 3. Two red ones (one was for sale on Av Europa - Private Collections and this one) and a green one with a beige top near my apartment.
