I honestly thought Northam shat the bed by approving that horrid “conservatives want to mow down kids of color with them their pick-em-ups”. Pre-election polls had Gillespie closing fast, but actual results are holy shit horrifically bad for the GOP. First good election night democrats have had since 2012.

I had to take the kids to swimming tonight, and the community center was a polling station. In VA you can campaign right up to the door. The GOP folks were completely ignored - people wouldn’t even look at them or respond to them even as they tried to engage them as they walk by. Wasn’t surprised to see Fairfax Co. go almost 70/30 Dem.
Not sure if you are in VA, but Gillespie ran some really disgusting ads, on par with the pickup truck ad, and best I can figure that pissed the hell out of the suburban DC voters.

The less I have to see/hear from McAuliffe the better. The smear campaigns were so thick I never heard about what good Northam or Gillespie were promising - just how much the other is a lier and corporate shill. Real promising stuff.

I’m just happy we got Issue 1, Marsy’s Law, passed in Ohio. Honestly it was a no-brainer. Ohios issue 2 to was so full of underhanded pork that I voted it down. It failed.

I live in Marshall’s district, my family knows a guy who ran against him and failed. We’ve had to deal with him for over 20 years.
