Kinja'd!!!

Presented for your oppo-preciation: a turbo Forester with bigass lights on the roof and General Grabber AT2s BFGoodrich A/T KO2s on some kind of rally style wheels. I can dig it.

Looks cool, I can tell you from my experience that with a manual its no good of road even with good tires but maybe with the auto?

As someone with a Forester of similar vintage but non turbofied...I’m thinking those tyres are a little bigger than they should be. If so then no. Because the gearing will not like it. They will offroad just fine with stock size tyres and a dual range box...like ours.

But I do like those wheels...

Yeah I’m with you on the being KO2's. Having had both I prefer the Grabbers though. Actually I still have a set of each on two vehicles.

Nice Forester, off-road for sure- your not going anywhere fast with those tires..

I want this, but on my car. AT2s are the cheaper option for a smaller off road tires. Once I get coilovers I’ll be able to fit some on my Galant. BFG KO2s are the more expensive option.

I thought a stick shift was generally preferable for off-road driving?

This conversation (generally) is a big ‘ol a can-o-worms but for the purposes of the SG generation FXT, the manual has a viscous coupled center diff not the electronically controlled one that you can mod to lockup, not to mention that even though it has 4.44 diffs and a decent 1st gear there is no torque multiplication and the turbo doesn’t really do much until about 2500 rpm which makes hill starts tricky without burning up the clutch.

If you want my opinion on manuals off road I would say that, like most cars, they are a personal choice and their “betterness” is a matter of opinion only.
