The college strike is powering through its fourth week, and it’s certainly going to run through a fifth week. Almost everyone’s gone home from residence at this point, which leaves just a handful of us. There are maybe eight cars in the parking lot. I’m sipping Gatorade as some people are sipping Tanqueray. I guess this is where and when some people break. Last night was a long one, but for a quite good reason which I can’t explain right now. Maybe later. The G35's been very reliable and eager to pound back the miles. It was undercoated and Rust Check’d yesterday in partial prep for the salty Ontario winter roads, and pretty soon I’ll be very happy to have the X-Ice Xi2s. For now I’ll just vibe out. Maybe I’ll go to the Falls, or maybe Toronto, or maybe both. My buddies are all either at uni, working, or far enough away that it wouldn’t exactly be a day trip to see them. Some rollers of the G35 under the lights would be cool, though.It looks like I’m going to miss my flight back for Christmas due to the strike. Not that I’m mad though. Waiting for good news sucks, but it’s still definitely better here than back west. Notice how I didn’t say back home. If BC was a sinking ship, maybe I’m on a life raft right now. Better luck tomorrow, I guess.

I’m not too worried about Motorolas right now. The left lane on the way back from Cambridge was moving at 130 for extended stretches, those guys can get the tickets. I’m just content to slowly rev it out in 2nd to hear the VQ under load, and I get more satisfaction from flawless rev-matched downshifts on off-ramps than I do from scurrying about at rather illicit speeds.
As for friends, I can count the people I’m rather willing to stand with on two hands. Three of them I’ve known from first grade. Three of them are back in BC. The rest were easy enough to figure out. When your aesthetic is “ugly, cute and dying” it’s pretty easy to weed people out.

The union is pushing for more full-time positions (50% of faculty being full-time instead of 30%), and greater academic freedom. The colleges don’t want to give that to them. The contracts expired on September 30th, the two parties have stalled at the negotiation table twice, and the final offer of the colleges is set to go to a faculty vote next week in an attempt to bypass the union.

without perspective, its hard to tell what you are in fact seeing......or being shown....... and progress usually depends on where you are starting from.......

its not about what i am looking at, what i see, what i know..... i have lived a little, so i have some strong prejudices...... everything is biased by what i AM familiar with, for better or worse..... i try not to go looking for things that i dont want to see, and am willing to let people show me for themselves who they are......

oh damn. Soo you don’t have to pay for this semester I hope. It’s funny when I was in 9th grade our teachers striked and the schools shut down for 3 weeks. it sucked because they just extend the school year 3 weeks. such Bullshit.
