This is some pretty neat seating flexibility

Of course, it’s a Corolla-based minivan with mandatory CVT (although, hey, you get your choice of real CVT or power split device), so you know it won’t be interesting to drive, despite the tagline at the end, but I find the flexibility neat. That’s all.

Also, the sleeping configuration at 0:59 brings to mind the saying “children in cars cause accidents, accidents in cars cause children”.

Does the seating flexibility include being able to put the steering wheel back where it belongs?

I see so much Toyota in this.

They are sticking with the 3rd row against the glass approach (mixed feelings on this, both current cars have it)

The part at 1 minute in is EXACTLY how my 1996 rav4 worked with the front and middle row. Its not a bed no matter how many pillows they use. Its surprisingly comfy for a nap though, cannot personally comment on its other potential functionality.

Note that there looks to be nearly zero bolstering on the second row, and zero on the third row - it might work better as a bed than the Gen 1 RAV4's setup?

The lounge setup in the thumbnail is just odd, though.

And, I think the third row against the glass is an interesting approach at least - it gives more cargo height at the expense of cargo width at glass level.

This is pretty cool. I noticed that whenever dad is in the car he is always in the drivers seat.

The rav4 didn’t have any bolstering in the back (it was done by padding the shock tower) but the fronts had a little.

I’ve used the lounge setup, its not bad, but definitely a little odd.

There are at least three baby-making configurations in that video.

So this would be what Mazda 5 sized or there abouts?  Not that I see it selling in the US against the Sienna.

Quite a bit taller than the Mazda5, a bit longer, not as wide.

I’d say that the US-spec Nissan NV200 is almost exactly the same size, though, as this particular class of small Japanese consumer minivan. (The US one actually has about an 8" wheelbase stretch in the B pillar - everyone else’s NV200 is tiny.)

Is it typical of Japanese market adverts to use Caucasian people for their models? I notice you never really see them directly, but it definitely seems like they’re a Caucasian family.

Oh so more transit connect sized, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a NV200 on the road.

Yeah, although the Transit Connect, being European in origin, is about 4-5" wider, and the LWB Transit Connect is a bit longer.

What vehicle is this? I wish they sold more things like this in North America. Mrs. BaconSandwich and I may be potentially looking for a larger family hauler, and something like this would work nicely. Except the right hand drive. Mrs. BaconSandwich has vetoed that.

Toyota Noah, although the Voxy and Esquire are identical in that respect. (The Voxy is the “sporty” rebadge, the Esquire is the luxury rebadge.)

Closest thing we get here, I’d say, is the Nissan NV200, but we don’t get it in a passenger config except for the taxi. The Ford Transit Connect (in a LWB passenger wagon config) would be the next closest thing, although it doesn’t have the seating flexibility.

My old CR-V had seats that would fold down into a sort of bed too. Was nice for naps at lunch in high school.
