My router died. My choices are:

Linksys EA6350, new, $50

Linksys EA6400, used, $20

Both, bridged.

Are you choosing between the two or not? Because the cheaper one has more bandwidth, I dunno why you wouldn’t go for that.

Saying both, bridged is throwing me off though. That kind of implies you have something upstream doing the actual routing and what you really need is a WAP. Or you’re using it as a wireless bridge. Or you’re running another subnet...

Damn, that thing is cool. I like the built in PoE.

I’m running pfSense on a sorta overkill setup. Multiple VPNs, proxy server, 4 VLANs, and anti-virus.

Just bought a 2921 for our hub location at work.

I have an EA6400 that I bought a few years ago and has been essentially rock solid. I’ve occasionally had to tweak the channels because I live in a pretty congested area. I use a wifi analyzer app to see which channels have the most other activity on them and put my channels on something else.

From what I recall of pictures you’ve posted of your relatively large house, I would do some kind of mesh router setup or add a couple range extenders to whatever router you do use.

I use a Google Onhub, great UI, juggles traffic pretty well and useful coverage.

If you have a larger home, you can string them together to eliminate dead zones.

I would like to share an email with you off-grid. Would you consider it?
