Went to test drive the Dumpster Fire following its resurrection. Started right up, so I moved some cars out of the way, grabbed a jacket, and... it started running rough. I hit the throttle and was rewarded with a lot of stumbling and an intake backfire.
Par for the course really.
Luckily, after poking around a bit, I touched the intake bulb (best way I can think of to describe it) and the car stumbled. I pushed it a little harder and the car died. Yup, just a case of the intake falling off. Nothing to see here!
This bulb is held onto the air plate by a massive worm clamp, something like 8 inches in diameter, and it is really tricky to get on. If you get it too tight, it can work its way up onto the bulb and unseat. Either my bulb is warped or my clamp is, but either way apparently I didn’t get it quite right the last time I took it off and this was the result.
Took it on a little spin and everything was fine.
Except the HVAC stopped working because of a vacuum leak.
And the heater control linkage has fallen off so the heat didn’t work.
But the cabin was remarkably devoid of gasoline smells and I didn’t break down so.... PROGRESS!
No pictures because it gets dark at noon these days [exaggeration].

I’m good. Should be making my way up to see you at some point this afternoon. Some possibility I have to delay, as we are trying to get a project deployed today, but I’ll definitely get up there some time (if I can’t make it today, what’s the best time?)

18th and Cincinnati. I would not recommend it. I’ve fill up there twice in two different cars and both were... unhappy following it. But it is the closest to my house so...
I usually use Reeder’s at 21st and Lewis for 100% gas.

Yes, but it is fairly minor and doesn’t like to stay. It hasn’t been much of a problem before now, so I guess it is time for some detailed investigation.

In Tulsa is seems like all of the non-QT branded gas stations have gone to 100% gas to try and compete. In reaction a few QT stations have started selling 100% too...

Haha - we live way out east now, and there’s a 100% gas place not far, which is nice, but I end up going to QT as much as possible.
I should probably put only 100% gas in my ‘03 Pathfinder that’s not my daily...

We have a few stations up here in NW Arkansas that go 100%. The $/mile math doesn’t work out on the better 3/4's Outback, but it certainly helps on my WRX.
