Nah son that bland non-quarter-turn VCT floor is the worst.

No but seriously tho the problem is poor quality round laces. The ones that came with my boots sucked and wouldn’t stay tied, but these replacement ones are great and flat laces just wouldn’t look right.

The issue is when they’re too thin. There’s just not enough friction to keep them together!

Tie a Sherpa Knot. They will not come untied until wanted. Changed my life.

A long time ago, I mused that maybe velcro work boots should be a thing. Never thought to try looking online, until now. This was one of the first search results:

With one simple trick your shoes can stay tied too.

The key is to tie them the right way. Instead of changing the way you do the bunny ears like he does in this video you can just change the way you do the first loop. If you always start by crossing the left lace over the right, then switch to starting with the right lace over the left, then tie as normal. As long as your knot lays perpendicular to the axis of the shoe it will stay tied.
