Sold the motorcycle in anticipation of my upcoming move so the wife can park in the garage again. Lots of Camry power under one roof.

My wife is a serious champ, she’s had that car since before we were married while I’m on number 7 (although the Cayman was bought for her until she decided she didn’t want to drive it). 150k miles and no issues on the Camry. Seriously a great car.

Parked next to a Camry, a Lotus looks like a space ship. Have to say that’s probably the best two car garage you can have. Camry for super reliable grocery getter, and the Lotus for fun days everyday. So you daily the Lotus? If so how well does it so as a daily?

I’ve had better two car combos but this is a good one (classic mini and Viper was pretty funny).

I was going between the motorcycle and evora, but now just the Evora. It’s fine for a daily, minus some negative attention. Ride is way smooth for a sports car. It’s a good car. I’ll probably buy my wife a used suv-ish when we move in a few months and I’ll daily the Camry. That things worth next to nothing to sell but is an incredible car to own.

My dad has that generation Camry. You’re right that’s it’s an excellent car. Nothing fancy but amazingly competent at what it is. He retired recently and keeps talking about replacing it with one last car to keep forever and I just tell him he already has that car.

What’s funny was when we got married six years ago I had just finished college and thought it was super fancy to have a 2 year old Camry. I called it my wife’s dowry. I grew up in a family where Toyota’s were considered too expensive.

Love the idea of it. Like when you see those houses with an Audi coupe and SUV.

If I considered an Evora for daily usage, would that be a mistake? I drove a ‘13 Evora S at he Lane and loved it. I can deal with the engine(we already have two 3.5L and mearly a dozen ToyMoCo) but the electronics scare me. Also not afraid to put daily miles on one.

Youre asking someone who daily drives one if it’s a mistake, so I’m probably not the right person to ask.

If you’re afraid of it and having issues with it then I’d suggest stick with something else. I haven’t had any issues, and many other owners haven’t either, but Lotus makes cars that often have some issues.

Lots of trouble, usually serious.

If you want a daily you don’t have to worry about, get a used c7 vette. It’s a better and faster car. I love Lotus, like to be different, and it looks really pretty to me so I got one (used to daily an Elise as well).

I didn’t realize it was your absolute daily. Lie I said I’m not too scared of it as I have an entire shop at my disposal, I just was wondering if it has any of the day to day gremlins. I love the car, now I just have to figure out how to own it.

No day to day gremlins for me. Never been worried about just hopping in it and going. Had a few couple hour road trips and no issues. I am strongly in the camp of if you drive it regularly and maintain it alright you won’t face a lot of the issues you hear about.

If you have a whole shop at your disposal I don’t see why not if you really like the car. The uniqueness, beauty, and overall driver feel is what has kept me with Lotus.

That being said, I will always let someone else eat the depreciation before me.

I’m thinking about waiting until I can afford a 2012 or so and picking it up for 35k or so. Seems about right.

How has the Evora been? How much Elise and how much GT is it really?

Prices are starting to become very enticing and I’m not sure I would need a supercharger (enjoy being able to floor it and use all the car). Thinking it could be a more cost effective car over my current $$$ eating BMW.
