This is what I want to do, but I can’t afford it. I can’t justify $700 to drive a Lambo and Ferrari for 10 laps. I have projects to restore, and money needs to go there.
So I don’t gamble, am away from the shopping and entertainment on the Strip. I sure as hell am not going to hang out in a club because middle aged dad. What can I to to waste some $$ in Vegas? I had an idea.
Big goddamn steak. I know our resident car cleaning expert approves of this.
That, my friends, is an 18 oz, bone in, Prime filet, dry aged 24-30 days. Holy mother, was it good.
I paired it with the creamed spinach. And a wedge salad with maple crusted pork belly (sorry Wilbur). Damn, that was good.
And of course, as I have nowhere to go tonight, Makers on the rocks. I usually drink my whiskey neat, but I felt like rocks tonight.
That is the happy part of this post, a meal I am using to distract myself.
I am a bit troubled tonight, Oppo, as I was informed moments ago that a close family member is struggling with opiate addiction, and was hospitalized due to OD. This all started with legit medical use that got out of hand. Be careful with ehat they prescribe you, Oppo.

More often than not, there are groupon or other deals going on that make it much more reasonable to due those exotic car racing things.

It’s the wrong fucking ice. They used mixing ice, not rock ice. You can already see the drink being watered down.

Sorry to hear that. Both my dad and half-brother died from alcohol & pain killer over-doses. I didn’t know either of them since my mom got us away from them when I was little. Thank God for her decisive actions. Anyway, some people are just susceptible to addiction to certain drugs. I have to be careful with both since that kind of addiction runs in families. So far, so good! Now I just have to worry about my kids....

I used to do meat cutting. Honestly for me, the most satisfying job I’ve ever had was carefully cutting perfectly marbled , beautiful, prime tenderloin, into plump, perfectly symmetrical, Filet-Mignon and nailing the customer specified weight to within tenths of an ounce (my boss could do it within 1 tenth every time on on the first try, I was usually within 3-4 the tenths without trimming). The good old days...... now I’m majoring in cyber security, talk about a job shift :)

You’re doing Vegas right, as far as I’m concerned! I ate way too much during my 3 weeks there last summer... I don’t gamble, I don’t party, and I’m a mid-30s dad/husband. So... FOOOOOD!!!
If you like Mexican food, I highly recommend Tacos El Gordo.

Sorry to hear about the addiction part but if you want a super neat car experience in Vegas that will cost you nothing scoot out to Exotics Driving experience at the Vegas Track. You don’t have to pay to look around at the cars and you are on the infield of the track that usually has something going on!
