It’s always near my house. Despite faded paint, and being a discontinued model, it still has a laptop on the console, federal plates, and none of the Denver Police info is removed.

It’d be hella illegal if it wasn’t real.

I saw an Illinois State Trooper Panther the other day and it surprised me - I think they’re mostly retired. But that one looked immaculate and freshly washed, which is why it caught my eye.

This one looks fishy as hell.

It could be a semi-retired car they park in certain areas to create the illusion of a police presence to deter speeders and petty thieves/vandals.

Most towns around me, and even the state police, still have decent numbers of Crown Vics in their fleets, but if they’re still actively using a car, they would usually at least touch up the paint if it got that bad.

This. I see DPD Crown Vics from time to time but they at least still have paint on them. Probably parked as a deterrent.

In teh second pics, it looks like there’s no actual laptop on the tray, just a napkin or placemat of some sort, but of course I could be wrong. And in the third pic, that looks like a regular Colorado plate to me. The feds use these:

It’s reverse undercover - a drug dealer trying to infiltrate the police force. He’s got what he thinks all the cops drive, but missed the mark. Like an undercover officer in a bad movie, saying a slang phrase wrong.

He brings donuts from the wrong coffee shop to all the meetings, and his radio is a CB, not a police radio. He keeps making bad references to cop movies, because he thinks that’s what cops must talk about all the time.

The only good part of his disguise is that he’s pretending to be an undercover cop , so he dresses and smells like a drug dealer.

My local PD uses a mix of Tauri, Chargers, and Crown Vics, so I don’t think an active Crown Vic is unusual.

The paint being in terrible condition definitely raises some questions.

Denver hangs on to their cruisers forever. So does Lakewood, and I know Boulder used to too.

I can’t tell from the last picture because quality but what do the letters going vertically say? “GOV”? If so, then yes it’s legit.

I think most police cars here just use the GVT plates

Well I know Detroit still has tons of crown vics that look that.
