Imma let you get to the quirks and features, but when the thumbnail shows off the door misalignment (chrome belt moulding) you know it’s gonna be a good video.

Buttons instead of handles to exit?! That’s amazing...

Wait a minute. Where have I seen that before...

I disagree with every positive thing Doug said about the whole phone app madness

Doug Demuro, turning features certain cars have had for YEARS into quirks on the car he’s ‘reviewing’.

The roof mounted hazard light isn’t new either

Kinja'd!!!

Also, that’s a much better place for the nav screen.

I got to the steering wheel... wheels. Those are kinda novel. I like it. The rest is like changing smart phone settings, and everything seems to have AUTO functions. I.e., set them and forget them. I’m okay with that.

It obscures less, but distracts more. If they could find a way to mount it towards the front of the driver window near the A-pillar, that’s a home run.

Wheels instead of buttons makes sense. Using them for things like adjusting the steering wheel column (faster and easier if you can just pull it to where you want it) doesn’t. Also, having to go into menus and submenus for shit like lights and wipers is dumb.

If you set them to auto (like I have in my truck [lights] and my wife’s Durango [lights and wipers]) you never have to touch them.

I’ll give you that the Corvette doesn’t warn you not to use the manual switch.

I’ve yet to find an auto lights/wipers system that only turns on when I want them to

it’s probably like the Mustang’s frameless windows where the window lowers about 1/2" when you open the door because it tucks in up under the drip rail. Pulling the emergency release probably doesn’t tell the window to drop that bit.

The Durango’s auto wipers are spot on, and adjustable. The RAM’s lights are on/off when they should be 90% of the time (and set to turn on with the wipers, same as I have them set in the Durango). The other 10% is light fog where 90% of people on the road don’t have their lights on either.

That’s only because he’s pushing it to far down. Past the rest/close position and into the spring loaded release. Not really a big or uncommon problem

Well that’s just poor design then. My Solstice also has frameless windows and indents a bit, but that’s mechanical instead of electrical indexing.

It would be extremly dumb that if you manage to lock yourself out of the Tesla with the card inside it would lock, a Nissan Versa doesn’t let you lock the car if the keys are inside, but looking at the card it seems to use NFC instead of RF signals so it might happen.

Tesla reminds me so much of Apple, and that is a bad thing, because I’m sure they are setting trends that other manufacturers will follow with the lack of buttons and everything electronically and remotly controlled.

You have to go into the freaking infotainment to adjust the mirrors... And after that you use buttons on the steering wheel...

WHY ADD STEPS?

It seems like you are required to take your eyes off the road for a considerable length of time to do very simple things that would be a quick button or switch on other cars...

I was in a showroom a couple weeks ago, and my friend goes obnoxoulsy flicking the loose rear windo trim on a S. “my accord is bolted together better than this.”

Also the trunk had a noticable difference in panel gap from the top to bottom.

Because once you set them, you shouldn’t need to adjust them again. Who drives around constantly fiddling with the mirror switches?
