Shop checked timing. It was at 0* do they set it to the factory 6*. They also indicated the firing order was wrong, which confuses me as I checked that multiple times, but they say it runs a lot better now. I’m excited to try it out.....but....

Brakes are shot, suspension bushings are shot, tires (while new) are flat spotted, and it doesn’t appear to be building boost. In other words, while it runs better, there’s a hell of a lot more to go.

Which suspension bushings are shot? You may find it cheaper to replace parts rather than just the bushings since the labor will be less. I rebuilt the front end of my El Camino in an afternoon - probably 3 - 4 hours with the exception of the control arms. It is really very easy if you don’t want to pay shop rates.

Brakes should be pretty easy as well.

Stock, under boost that car is rated at about 200hp, correct?

Timing-wise, I’m fairly sure a number of American cars from the dawn of emission standards merely retarded timing to pass emissions, at the expense of drivability.

If you know that the timing doesn’t compromise drivability, ignore what I said above. If you’re not sure, it wouldn’t hurt to ask, I suppose.
