I wanted to write a witty comment, but I’m just absorbed by it.

God damnit!

weird that they would stay with such a high displacement. this removes that bike from contention in a lot of series, as 4 bangers are limited to 1000cc....

I thought that extra 100cc’s was weird too....

Apparently Ducati will also have a 1000 cc version specifically for homologation in production-based series, to get around that.

I like it. Motorcycle.com says only 214 HP though.

Pricing hasn’t been released yet, somewhere between $25k and $30k is a good estimate for the S version though.

It still has the same dumb exhaust design as the last version. This creates problems when fitting track bodywork, as well as purchasing aftermarket exhausts that aren’t $3k+ Termis. The 1103 cc engine will also limit racing applications, since most superbike classes are limited to 1000 cc.

Overall, the ideal use case will be posing outside of upscale coffee / dining establishments, as well as at trackdays getting passed on the outside of turns by people on 10 yr old GSXRs. Pretty much the same as the current 1299.

What is there to be sarcastic about?

This is the perfect bike to make the center of interest in any home. It’s a perfect bike to buy first, and then look at longingly while you demolish lesser motorcycles in your neverending quest to become worthy of your one true love.

Ducati doesn’t like round numbers and likes to have more capacity no matter what in production bikes.

They will have a 1000 cc bike for racing.

it is awfully pretty though. I’d lean against it at Starbucks. (If I could afford it)

I don’t know if i’d buy a Paginale to be honest. It’s kinda useless here in Mexico because of potholes and such. As a proud 1.88m person I find myself thinking I’d look ridiculous in such a compact motorbike.

My dream garage is a SuperSport S and an s 1000 XR.

But still, too much man, and that v4 must be cray cray

Looks like 214 hp is in the base configuration, 226 hp is with the titanium exhaust.

I see plenty of panegales that have the snot tracked out of therm... Way more than I’ve seen at coffee shops.. But I do spend time at a duc speed shop.. I guess perception is subjective.

Also, porsche 918, la Ferraris and the p1 aren’t legit for any racing series either, but it doesn’t detract from their engineering and lust factor.

And if you want the $20k - $30k red Italian super bike, but can’t afford the termi’s- that’s not a problem as there’s plenty of basic ujm’s out there.

It must depend on the area - I see a decent amount of the smaller 8xx ones, as well as the 10xx or 11xx at the tracks I frequent on the east coast. Rarely a 1299, and if there is one it’s not having the snot ridden out of it.

The cost exclusivity is part of the appeal I think.
