Why wouldn’t you? It’s not like boring wheels are any cheaper (unless you just want steelies). No reason minivans can’t have a little style.

I see blacked out Siennas all over the place. If you have to minivan, you may as well own it.

My grandad’s ES had winter tires on BBS rims. It looked... odd, but hey, whatever works.

It’s more like that the venn diagram between “People who DD a minivan” and “People who like cars enough that they’d swap wheels” doesn’t have a ton of overlap.

Maybe they damaged the factory wheels? Maybe they had factory steelies and didn’t like them? Maybe they have a second set of wheels for snow tires? Maybe it’s a young driver with a hand-me-down car, who wanted it sportier?

Seems like there are lots of options to me.

There is nothing wrong with that :o)

Now the real question is, who the fuck puts all those stickers on the back? lololol

I plan to, with my ’98 Sienna, since it’s the family car I grew up with, so I’ll be keeping it for a long time.

I see it from time to time, but it’s usually a direct size swap. Needs to be a +2 size at least, but hey. It’s something.

I plan to put the Odyssey on 19" or 20" at the next tire change, plus adding some flame decals and doing red “H” badges. Because why not.

I couldn’t stop looking at the bumper stickers. Reminds me of this thing I wrote a few years ago, which I’ll probably update and resurrect on Oppo soon:

I thought you meant sticker time... Which does look bad.

It’s usually a Sienna when I do see aftermarket wheels on a minivan.

There aren’t enough things in this world I’m passionate about to represent with that many stickers. Where’s the “Calvin Unable to Pee Due to Apathy” sticker?

While it’s a bit odd that it’s a Sienna, it is actually rather common to go aftermarket on Odysseys.

(Basically, the Odyssey often shipped with Michelin PAX runflats, which are hard to get tires for, short tire life IIRC, and horrendously expensive. Oh, and the wheels are proprietary. So, a lot of people replace the wheels with normal wheels.)

Dang, is that a Patagonia Boston sticker on that Cherokee? I have a Patagonia Atlanta sticker on my RAV4, and I’ve only seen one other non-Ventura, California sticker; it was another Atlanta sticker on a laptop. People have complemented my sticker before because it’s so unique.

Maybe he had an extra set of rims laying around and this happened once he figured out they matched the minivans bolt pattern

Uh oh... This is the part where I admit that I run the same exact wheels (Vision brand) on my Mini with its snow tires... (albeit four lug of course)

I mean yeah, they’re nice and simple and fitting, but I’ve never before thought my Mini comparable to a minivan before. Heck, the minivan’s wheels may actually be bigger than my 15"s XD

It’s definitely a step or two smaller from whatever size the Sienna has stock.

“sporty” those are some of the cheapest ones you can get at discount tire or belle tire here. usually what people get when the salt eats up the factory ones
