Kinja'd!!!

1934 Desoto Airflow

I have an unhealthy desire to have one of these and 1934 is the best looking version in my opinion. I would prefer a 2-door, but I’d be very happy to have a 4-door.

I even have access to a good source of information on these cars. My grandfather was the longtime “technical expert” of the airflow line of cars for the National Desoto Club.

Wonder what the reserve is? That one is so original, I could see putting in new floors and recovering the seats and just leaving the rest as-is. Those Chrysler flatheads were pretty stout engines and very simple to work on, if it was running in the past couple of years, might not be too much trouble to get it going again.

Every so often I’ll look up on fleabay cars and bikes I’ve owned over the years to see what they’re selling for now. It’s a sickness, really.

That was my thought; put in floors, redo the upholstery, try and track down some of the trim that seems to be missing, and drive it as is.

The hardest part would probably be finding the trim. Like you said the engine is simple and solid and assuming it’s not frozen may not be too hard to get going.

The trim would be a pain, but you might get lucky and some of it could still be with the car - we don’t have a trunk shot.

There are a few extra pieces shown in the last pic. It shows some trim but no mention of whether it is the missing pieces or extra parts the owner has collected.
