Nothing wrong with checking in less frequently. But if you’re not getting all caught up during each visit, you’re definitely missing out.
Frankly, I find Oppo harder to keep up with. One page of posts on Jalopnik covers about half a day of content, but one page on Oppo typically covers only about two or three hours of the most recent posts. It would be nice if Kinja had the option to sorts posts by popularity.

What you do is stay on oppo and if an article is noteworthy someone will have a link to it, or people will be talking about it.

They still publish some really good automobile and automobile culture related articles on a somewhat regular basis. The problem is that you need to wade through a lot more crap to find them.

My engagement with the FP (as with Opposite) is episodic. I feel like there were a few years where I barely logged on at all. It usually seems to vacillate between manga, blogs/Reddit and games emulated on my phone.

I stopped going there altogether. Too much crap, too much negativity. Most of the good authors bailed ship during the Gawker implosion. I followed most of those authors to their new venues and don’t miss jalopnik. Maybe if there is a change in head editor I will check it out again.
