There is hope for the future.
My son has phenomenal taste in (video game) cars. In addition to the sweet Chevelle he has a Datsun Z, an RS6, a Ford GT, and an Escalade. He also made a clone of my previous M3 that we used to take to Cars n Coffee. The next generation might be OK after all.

The main fault lies in whoever made the car list for that game, and not your son (he has pretty great taste by the sounds of it).
Someone just needs to make a game where these cars are playable and all will be restored:
