YES! I was always a pretty good student, but the night before my ACT I stupidly went out with my friends and stayed out too late (some weed may have been involved) I took the exam the next morning, no studying, groggy from the devils lettuce, and got a 33.

I once taught with an old school math teacher her take on calculators was (I think I have this quote right) “they are a communist device invented to weaken the minds of America’s youth.” I can’t say she was wrong, my students are generally dependent on their trusty Ti-84s.
