Fellow student at university let me driver hers years ago. Comfy, and the shifter is the usual H-pattern just sideways. You get used to it pretty quick. There’s no rhyme or reason as to where the few switches and dials are placed, but you expect that with the French. In comparison a Trabant feels well thought out and almost luxurious.

She drove on the way back through Heidelberg city rush hour traffic and I almost shat a brick. She left no room for error, revving it to an inch of its life, zooming in and out of traffic. Heidelberg has a huge American base, so lots of trucks on the streets. Having experienced how bad the brakes on this thing were and knowing that it was impossible to successfully perform an evasive maneuvre with the cartoonish handling, I expected death by brodozer any second.

How can that thing be legal to register in the US? It must be almost as unsafe as my GMC Safari.
