Of their god damned OEM wheels? People put their Cadillacs on CL saying “...all or parts” and /or “it’s getting crushed” and when I ask about a swap - my wheels for theirs (what do they care? It’s being parted out or crushed any fucking way) they want like three hundred dollars on top of the trade. Fuck that! I can buy straight out a set of OEMs for three hundred bucks, and get 250 or so for these wheels on the backend.

or you could go out late at night with a tire iron and a couple blocks of wood and liberate yourself some oems..... i mean... they’re just getting crushed anyway...

its practically a good deed

Solution: Don’t buy a Cadillac, especially on CL.

I am really confused about what it is that you are upset about? If you can get a straight set of wheels for $300 and sell yours for $250, why not just do that?

There was a guy who was selling his non-running longbed as a whole for like $500. It had a perfect fitting color matching canopy. I offered him 200... for just the canopy! He said no, he wanted to sell it as a whole. The canopy is an accessory Dammit! And I’m offering 40% the asking price of the entire truck for it!

GUHHHHJHH

I’d still swap. I don’t want these wheels

Because I’d rather just swap. More efficient that way (one transaction instead of two, less tire kickers)

Whenever I’ve tried to sell anything on craigslist and anyone offers me any kind of swap, my answer is no. The reason I’m selling stuff on craigslist is I want to be rid of that stuff and get money in exchange. I don’t want some other random stuff and no money.

Not exactly the same, but they want money and you’re offering them something that’s not money, but takes time and effort on their part, so they want money.

Also, everyone on craigslist sucks.

“Original glass” used to be a popular selling point before the internet days. Like anyone really cared that a 79 Camaro had it’s original windshield..

It’s like selling an IH Scout with “Original Rust”!

You might hit up some of the small, shady shops that sell rimz in the not so nice parts of town. They always seem to have OEM wheels laying around, and their customer base certainly isn’t buying them most of the time. I’ve gotten some OEM sets of wheels for trucks cheap that way in the past.

I’ll check those out. I live in the ‘not so nice’ part of town and there are a number of ‘rimz’ shops.

If you bring cash and don’t need a receipt, that’ll help too.
