Kinja'd!!!

1999 Harley Electra Glide Classic.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m a big fan of the batwing fairing, not so much the trunk. So I’d take off the trunk/back seat, go to a solo gunfighter seat, and call it good. I love the look of a big bagger Harley with a solo seat.

I’ve had two bikes, and didn’t really fall in love with them...I wonder if maybe I had the wrong bike. Having a radio will help me, cruise control is nice, and to me I think there’s just something about a Harley. If riding is ever going to be a thing for me, this would be the bike to do it.

I don’t think all the Electra Glides had trunks. You could probably find one without it. I think the only one that came with it stock was the Ultra Classic. The others it was an add-on accessory called a Tour-Pak

If you hate the trunk, stay away from the Ultra. There is a wiring harness to that goes to the pack for lights, antenna, etc..

Why not an Indian Roadmaster Classic?

Good to know. I think you’re right, I’ve seen Glides without the trunk...though I’d rather have to delete the trunk then get a Road King or whatever and have to add the batwing. It looks like the used Harley market is down, I’m seeing these everywhere for $4-5k (that particular one up there is $3800) when they used to be much higher.

I can’t afford an Indian, though I’d love one. What I can afford is a 20-30 year old bagger Harley, haha.

They since dropped the “Electra Glide,” and it’s now called the “Street Glide” You can still buy the trunk for it. I honestly don’t like the trunk. I can strap racks and bags on the back if needed, and still have a sleeker look the rest of the time.

in 1999, the “glides” all started with the Electra Glide (bags and faring) and each model added shit to it. The “Ultra” came with all of it.

They also made police Electra Glides. Those often came with some nicer bits that were options at the time (bigger motor, ABS, oil cooler, etc...) And usually only had the solo seat.

Don’t be the douche-bag blasting tool tunes on the radio of his hawg. I can’t abide by that.

Ha. Nah man, I always turn the volume down at lights when I’m driving, it’ll be no different on a bike.

I am quite partial to Indians over Harleys. Even though I tend to ride European bikes.
