A friend in college got a 98 in a 55... It didn’t go well. Cop crossed a grass median in a Camaro to get him.

I’d say $300 is a bargain - I’d be more worried my insurance carrier doesn’t pull an MVR for a few years...

$300? That’s it?
You wouldn’t have a license in NJ...

It was a Jersey driver in NY. I’m in Jersey now and I almost always keep it to 80 because I’m not trying to lose my license.

I wonder if there’s a much higher consequence for 30 over and the cop went with 94 to “go easy” or avoid extra paperwork.

Edit: I found my copy of the ticket, the California trip was just for 6 over. I think I may be talking about the time I was caught doing 98 in a 55 in Chicago, no ticket.

Lol. My buddy is going to have 2 days in jail and a $1000 fine and 6 month restricted license for 96 in a 70 in Virginia. That’s child’s play.

I’m in Michigan. 95 in a 65 gets you a headlight flash and you have to move out of the way.....the lane you’re in doesn’t matter sometimes. Hell, I;ve seen cops blow people’s doors off when they’re doing 75-80mph.

It was a mountain Interstate that dropped from 60 mph to 40 mph for a downgrade. The curve involved was smooth and everyone that wasn’t a truck entered the curve at about 70-80 and slowed down once they saw the sign. But uh, I was the stupid one to stick out like a sore thumb and didn’t notice the sign.
Edit: According to my ticket I actually only went 6 over in this instance. Huh, I know I’ve gotten caught going much faster before. Maybe I’m thinking my I-94 run?

I also lost got a 420 dollar ticket once. It was for street racing. Thankfully I went to court and explained I wasn’t racing because I wasn’t, but I did admit that I was speeding 10-15 over, which was true. Got it knocked down to 160, but kept the 4 points on my license. I cane within one point of losing my license that year.
Delivering pizza is a dangerous game.

85ish in a 65 on Long Island near Montauk in 2000 got me a reduced fine (after I argued it myself) and no points. Cop showed, but late, so I did well.

When I started delivering pizzas, I was the kind of person who never broke the speed limit except to keep up with traffic on the freeway. I wouldn’t even do 5 over on a rural two-lane. That changed pretty quickly.
I’m not a delivery driver anymore, but I’m afraid that job may have influenced my driving habits for the worse…

That’s cheap for that much over. I got $138 (still waiting for court date) for doing 109kph(reduced from 120kph) in a 80kph zone. 50kph over is an automatic 1 week impound(I think), & stunt driving charge in Ontario.

My worst ticket was for 73 in a 35 on a “wet” road surface. It was on an empty stretch of intercity four lane road at midnight and I had just got off work, only thing on my mind was getting home for supper. That one was pricey.

It was a fun job. But being a kid in a loud Honda with a Dominos sign on the roof makes you stand it a bit too much.

Lol. Nice I had a 91 Hatch when I was delivering. It was sure a fun little car. Especially when I was 20 and just gave 0 crap. And it was slowenough that it made you want to drive it at full throttle all the time. I even used to deliver through several major snow storms.
The only time she ever let me down was once in early November I got stuck in a patch of snow on an uphill drive way. That’s when I found out my tires were bald and had wires showing. I got new 50 dollar tires and After that I never got stuck in snow with that car.
