Don’t worry I’m just driving on a snow and ice covered road with no hands (knees!) on the wheel so I can take photos of said snow and ice covered road to brag about how utterly depressed I’ll be in two months due to lack of natural light.

I attribute my never getting SAD to the fact that I work outside so I’m always in the sun

I ski a lot, like 55 days alpine and maybe 2-3 days a week cross country and that is what keeps me sane. Usually by February the light has improved enough that optimism starts to come back.

No thanks.

Sadly, it’s on the way here, too.

Just so lots of E.brake slides which will force your body produce adrenaline and natural endorphins. The “happy” feeling that this Caused will help to battle the SADs that a occur during Sunlight withdrawals.

(This technique works better if “e brake” slides can be replaced with rear wheel or All wheel “power slides”. However in the case that only a Front wheel drive automobile is available we suggest you aquite snow tires. But only on the front tires. The improved control that is provided will make you feel like a professional rally car driver.)

Just put some snows on the Chevelle and go do skids.

I’ve heards high-temp CFL bulbs help with SAD. Here in the lower latitudes the dark season is much shorter, but DST still hurts because it’s dark by 4:00 or so.

My Icelandic friend’s dad made a living studying SAD in foreign servicepeople stationed there. Many of them came straight from a tropical assignment to near the arctic circle and suicides went through the roof. Sad. /pun

I think I’ve done two or three e-brake turns already today. I love going down a street and doing a 180 to get turned around.

I grew up here and I “used to it” it’s just that real winter decided to start ONE FUCKING MONTH TO GOD DAMN EARLY.

Skiing keeps me going all winter in New Hampshire. I can’t imagine living in a place like this and not loving the outdoors... I’d lose it for sure. I also coach ski jumping so that keeps me going too!

A week ago I was trail running in 3-5C rain, today I’m sweating while tilling up the garden in 25C. The A/C was on most of the day in the house (and the car). I hate the unpredictability.

A heavy dose of POR15 can take care of that.

Snow here today too, but it didn’t amount to much, though I did get to see a Chrysler 300 doing 55 in a 70 on I90 with its flashers on while everyone else was doing at least the limit. The California plates explained that one. I like to refer to winter as The Big Dark and it can really get to me but physical exertion like, strangely, shoveling snow helps.

I want to ski Switzer this year. I get BNSF rats at hotels so maybe a weekend in sand point is in order.

I’m not a skier but either Schweitzer or Silver Mountain sound like a great way to deal with winter blues.

I’ve used a good amount of POR15 but I’ve never seen it free seized bolts or replace missing material?

I’m starting to use my SAD light already because it’s been pretty cloudy in Michigan. I’ll be getting my Vitamin D test results this week too.
