She’s finally been bitten by the “Drive a used luxury car for the price of a new normal car” bug that has infected everyone else in our household. She’s buying a 2012 CTS sedan in ruby red off of an elderly relative, so her trusty Mazda is in need of a new home.

It was purchased while she still lived in Florida. Dealer didn’t even have any AWD models in stock. 2WD SUVs/CUVs/Pickups are much more popular down south.

Makes perfect sense.
Up here, everyone owns an AWD/4×4 vehicle, even though you’d need it maybe 2 weeks out of the year. Or in the case of last year, about one day.

Well then my memory sucks. I saw bluetooth streaming, backup camera, and keyless entry and thought, “huh, in 2013 those must have been higher trim options.” Must be getting senile. I’ll turn in my Oppo membership card Monday...

Our CX-5 is FWD and is a beast in the snow. In fact, I’ve considered selling my 4x4 truck because my wife’s CX-5 is just as (if not more) capable in the snow.
Also, I’m sad that one has a backup camera and our total base model one doesn’t. I’m adding one after Christmas, though.
