At a stop light, a terrible sounding GT kept revving at the 911. I thought the 911 would just brush him off. Nope. Light turns green, the 911 launches before the GT driver could even fully let off the clutch. Before the intersection ended, the 911 had 2 car lengths on the Mustang. It was quite funny.

Speaking of terrible sounding New Edges, there’s a kid around me who has one with a V6. He’s either got SLP Loudmouths on it, or he chopped the mufflers (He has an SLP sticker on it, but I’ve heard people say they were just hacked off.) It sounds as bad as you would expect.

I had Cobra revving at me in the M5 a couple weeks ago. I think I was shifting into second before he got the clutch out all of the way. Normally I decline such shenanigans but it was the fact that his car sounded like shit that I couldn’t get past.
I’d forgotten all about it but you brought me right back.

I was beating 5.0 mustangs with my Datsun 240z back in the 90's. I don’t think I would be as competitive today with 400 HP mustang GT’s roaming the streets. It was always fun when I got to 3rd gear and did a solid pull all the way to 90-95, by that time the mustang would be 10 car lengths behind.

On the interstate one night, an E90 328 kept bothering me in traffic, with his girlfriend inside. I wasn’t going to do something stupid in traffic, so I held back. He went as far as trapping me behind someone doing 10 under. He continues to pester me all the way to an empty interstate. He keeps nudging, and finally, I decide to ruin his night. I did the three honks to Mexico, let him nudge ahead, and then I rolled on in third. In third I was neck and neck basically out of boost, so I shifted to 4th right in the sweet spot. 4 car lengths later, he stopped trying. A Fiesta ruined his night in front of his girlfriend.

This is one of those things that I hated when driving the 968. So many insecure people wanting to show off their performance cars. Sorry - I’m the one in the Porsche, and therefore I really don’t think that I have anything left to prove.
There was also the fact that I had gotten into enough trouble racing my scaryfast sleeper Rabbit pickup, and after a few incidents decided to keep that kind of behavior on the track instead.

Yeah! I actually grew up with the kid. Every single one of us busts into laughter when we see it. I keep hoping that I get to pull up beside him in my grandfather’s ‘89 at some point. Not to race, but just to push the clutch in and rev the shit out of the 5.0.

This is what I’m gonna miss most about the S600. The thrill of executing someone with a 5000lb sedan never gets old, ever. I had a 996 GT3 trying to race me after cars & coffee last year and it really wasn’t much of a race. If I get an S550 with the 4.7 Biturbo, I’ll probably put a tune on it to bring it up to 550/615, but idk what I’m getting yet.

I’ve actually been surprised at how little people try to egg me on to race. My Mustang isn’t exactly subtle, but the only situation I can think of was a truck that revved a few times at a light. Oh, and there was a V6 SN95 with two teenagers in it that yelled ‘nice car!’ through open windows and asked me to make it sing. Not really a race, but it was fun.

Probably 3 years ago I slaughtered some 5.0 Stang in the SL. Twice. First he tried downshifting going down a hill, nope, didnt work. Then I switched lanes and gave him another try on flat ground. I lifted at 95 because I finished proving my point. He immediately took the next off ramp, and I waved at the old guy with his trophy lady in the passenger seat. Maybe she was half his age? Either way, I guess he missed the V12 badge, or thought it was fake.
