Since I like to car shop for cars I already have, targeted ads aren't very effective.

Yes in fact, I am looking for an M3. Oh wait, found it. It was in my garage this whole time.

I would argue they are effective, since the only cars you seem to share on here are any and all E9X, and own two.

But they’re not the reason I wanted an M3 at all, and I think with ad block back in 2014, before I had my M3, I never saw any of these ads.

It’s just suggesting content that you are more likely to click. They tried the whole Local Russians Near You thing, but apparently you declined!

They just had that ad cause I was over there for 2 months.

They’re leveraging their ad buy pretty well, I’d say.

Every time they show you an E90 for sale, it gets posted to Oppo and drooled over by a thousand more people who won’t buy it, either.

Still with the boat shoes, too.

You should be getting Sperry ads.

Yes because I don’t shop for them online.

Luddite. You shop for cars online, but travel to actual stores for shoes. How last century.

More of the ease of being able to get them same day. Working in the field at my last job made online shopping difficult. I never knew when packages were going to be delivered, and they might sit outside for several days.

And most of those are probably bots.

It’s probably just me, Zoidberg and Chariotoflove, TBH

I know, just kidding. I do the same with shoes.

Re: package delivery. My wife convinced us to get Amazon Prime, and it’s been great. One click and most things are here for free (and no tax) in two days (and we’re home to pick them up). Not shoes though. Those need to be tried on.

They really don’t seem to care what it is you’re shopping for, or if you ended up buying that thing. I’ve gotten plenty of ads for things I recently bought that no one would need or want 2 of unless they had ten kids.

My wife loves her RX but after she drove my RX and my moms 4cyl Camry she’s been wanting a car next. The RX is a legit good car. What year are you looking at?

Kinja'd!!! "WilliamsSW" (williamssw)
11/02/2017 at 23:16, STARS: 0

My wife has had 3 cars in her life - a’98 CRV, ‘11 RX350, and now a ‘15 X3. She’s pretty well set on sticking to the small crossovers - it suits her pretty well. She likes being up high, and filling the back with crap, but doesn’t want anything too big.

For her, it’s strictly new - we’ll probably look at the Q5, and maaaaybe Infiniti, but there’s about a 90% chance she’ll get an RX or NX. Hopefully the former, I’m not a fan of the NX.

Kinja'd!!! "OpposResidentLexusGuy - USE20, XF20, XU30 and Press Cars" (jakeauern)
11/02/2017 at 23:18, STARS: 1

Contrary to the FP I’ve heard the new RX is actually pretty nice to drive. If I get a high paying job and the wife insist on a crossover instead of a Wagon I’m gonna try to get her ina macan.

Kinja'd!!! "WilliamsSW" (williamssw)
11/02/2017 at 23:25, STARS: 0

Oh, I’m working on her re: the Macan, believe me. She likes the idea of that, but realistically would be looking at the base model, which has the Q5 engine in it anyways. We’re 5 minutes from a Porsche dealer, which happens to be across the street from Audi, and almost next door to Infiniti.

The FP review of the RX was completely skewed by it being a FWD model. We’re in Chicago, and she potentially *has* to go out in bad storms for work, so she’s not getting 2WD. She liked the 2011 that she had, it was a good car. She leases (because reasons), and she doesn’t really care much about cars. She just wants some luxury, reliable, able to haul stuff, safe, and not a behemoth.
