A mother released video of her son getting hit by a car while stunting on his bike. I, for one, fully expect my children to be complete idiots. We were all stupid back in my day; we just didn’t film it.

Kids do stupid things, but it’s my experience in the Post-Jackass Apocalypse in which we live that it requires a video camera if you really want to crank the stupid up to 11. It used to be showing off for girls, now it’s showing off for 200 random bromos on your social media.

The one broken bone I ever got, I earned as a 12-year old standing on the crossbar of my bike. My left foot came off and jammed into the spokes of my front wheel, which instantly dumped me over the bars. My left collar bone snapped in half.

we have a nice long bike trail not far from where I live, and I regularly go up there. I can’t remember how many times I’ve nearly been wiped out by some 10 to 14-year-old dumbfuck who was riding his bike while staring down at his phone weaving across the trail from edge to edge.
of course, being the brats they are, they give me a nasty look like it’s my fault.

Ha! Naw, that was all me. I stammered my way home, which was luckily only a few houses away. My parents were both self-employed smokers, and what that means for health insurance is that you basically have none unless something catastrophic happens (kinda like how most people are now, but this was almost 25 years ago ... I guess we were on the cutting edge!). That meant we really never went to the doctor unless you absolutely had to. Dad sat me down in a chair, noticed my left shoulder was now 2" lower than my right one, and announced we were going to the emergency room immediately.
Probably wouldn’t have much of a case, seeing how I’d sanded the factory paint off with a palm sander and rattle-canned it a fetching metallic blue.
