Hey Stranger, what’s new? I’ve been making some progress on Rusty. I was hoping to get it driving by Thanksgiving, but that may not be realistic. The Versa has developed a rear man seal leak that lost the better part of a quart in 1,000 miles, which is not acceptable. I must have had my head in my duffel bag because I should have replaced the seal when the engine was out of the car. So this means dropping the transmission _a second time_ so I can change the seal. $33 part, $1,000 worth of labor.
In other Rusty news, I’m talking to the guy in Texas who is going to take a stock exhaust manifold and divide it into two pieces, so I have a genuine split exhaust the way they did it in the Old School. I took apart the column shifter and cleaned and lubed it and now, I can shift the gears, though there will be a five-speed going in.
What’s new with you? Do I need to rent a tux anytime soon?

I’ve been running around like a madman. I was in Panama for a while, then back but with a house guest, then off to LA.... I still need to install the brakes on the Corvette before Laguna Seca on the 17th. Not sure if/when/how that will happen. Maybe I can come by and help you pull the transmission this Saturday and we can knock out the brakes too?
If it sounds like I’m complaining, I’m not. Just tired. Really life has been a blast lately. I just need about a month’s worth of sleep.

I don’t think we get veterans day off. I also have been burning through paid days off like they expire at the end of the year. I can always (rolls dice) come down with the flu however, if it’s an especially good day for you.

I’ll be working on it Friday most of the day, then Saturday, but I have a commitment in the morning and in the evening.
