What happened to my old WRX?

In another post, someone shared http://www.vehiclehistory.com as a free alternative to Carfax. Out of curiosity, I plugged the VIN in from my old WRX and saw what came up. The last entry in the record? Me buying it in 2011. Strange, I thought. Maybe the records are just bad...though state titling agencies should be the one thing that will always come up. So I put in the VIN of my BMW. It was apparently sold to a guy in New Jersey only two weeks after the dealer put it up for sale, which looked pretty normal. So what happened to the WRX? If it hasn’t been retitled since I got rid of it, where is it? Someone turned it into a race car? Still in auction hell somewhere? Destroyed in some freak car dealership disaster?

Last time I looked up my last car a year or two ago nothing came up. They told me given its age and mileage they were sending it to auction. My guess is it became a junk yard parts car

Mine had over 160,000 miles on it, so it was going to auction as well. It could have gone to a junkyard...I suppose that validates my inability to sell it private party.

I owned my Dakota in California, wrecked it near Fremont, OH while moving, it ended up going to a junkyard in Fairfield, CA. I had figured an Ohio junkyard would’ve had a field day on a 13 year old vehicle without rusty fasteners.

My 3 got sold at auction to a shady Milwaukee used car lot, and was sold off to some poor unsuspecting soul

I know what junkyard has my 944, but I don’t have the heart to go look at it.

Some cars, depending on the model and condition, end up getting shipped overseas to developing nations.

Hmmm, a good point I forgot about. Back in my brief auto consignment career, we actually had a meeting with a Nigerian shipper. Mostly looking for Hondas and Toyotas, but you never know...

That website doesn’t seem to show sales of cars, only listings.

For example, for both of my cars I got used, it doesn’t how anything since they were listed for sale before I got them. For one of them, it doesn’t even show where it was sold when new, even though carfax and autocheck did at the time I bought it.

Very incomplete vehicle history on that website for sure.
