I’ve come to the conclusion that the TL does not photograph well from the rear. I think it’s the combination of the small wheels and the large rear overhang that kinda makes it look blocky and weird.

The first picture is the best view (in photos) and the second one shows the side profile photographs decently.

Can’t wait to get some 18s on it which I think will cure it.

FWD sedans will always look odd from the rear because you can never hide that tall cowl, short hood proportions.

Get the Type S wheels. Honestly what makes the Type S that much better is the wheels and the quad exhaust, if you can do those 2 things you’ll be set. Other than that, they really are the last best Acura’s to me.

Can’t wait to get quad tips, they look great. I’m undecided on whether to do type s wheels or a spec wheels or just 18" aftermarket. Good thing with type s wheels is I wouldn’t need new tires

My dad had a 2004 that he sold two years ago with 77,778 miles on it (he hit 77,777 on the drive to Carmax) to buy a Chevy Colorado and I miss it to this day.

Is it a current gen Colorado? If so not too shabby. But yeah it’s a great car and especially in 04 it was a gem. Still feels brand new and could pass for a few years old

Hold the camera closer to the ground (and don’t angle the photo so far down) and it will look better from the rear. I’d assume these were taken with a phone so that’s a pretty wide lens, which is going to exaggerate whichever features are closest to the camera and in the middle of the lens, be that a fender, the greenhouse, or a wheel.

These do look a lot better in person than in pictures, somehow.

Yeah its mostly that I take these pictures while walking toward/away from my car in a span of about 15 seconds but im overdue for a real photoshoot with the DSLR and ill certainly consider perspective a lot more.

Also, my past 3 vehicles were large SUVs so I only had to get low if I wanted the tires to look enormous or the ride height to be exaggerated. In person I find I like all angles of the car, especially straight from behind where the hips look really wide and aggressive.

100%. The 3rd gen TL looks best in person and in motion. Pictures tend to make the beak look almost as bad as modern acuras and the rear looks awkward. In person the rear overhang pulls up to the trunk and looks tight and aggressive. I think the wheels also look good in person but way too small on camera.
