My personal favourite: I’m ten thousand dollars in debt and the rent is due tomorrow. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Double that and swap the rent for a mortgage for a really spoopy experience.

Add city taxes, and it gets a few grand scarier

My city taxes are about 3 grand a year and add on school taxes for another 500

You only owe 20k on your mortgage? That’s not spooky at all...I’m about to be a first time homebuyer...

I’m $410,000 in debt... So there’s that. Living indoors is an expensive habit.

HA! No. We’ve got about that much in debt between student loan and credit cards. The mortgage is looming over us at $176K.

I have 15k in debt, starting school again in January to help pay off my debt (I get paid to goto school) and the heat pump in my house gave up the ghost last night. I like the cold, but damn...getting out of shower into sub60s in the house is brutal. Reminds me of sadder times...

I am seriously hungover from a convention. Work won’t update any of our internet browers, I am using Mozilla 41. Sigh...

I don’t really think of my mortgage as some kind dark cloud. You get equity and a roof over your head. Renting is the pits. Home ownership is slightly better.

Yeah, I’ve lived in 5 different states and 8 different houses/apartments (not counting my stints in 2 not so fun countries where I lived in a tent) in the past 7.5 years.

Excited to finally build some equity and hopefully have some stability. Also, buying a house with a full basement apartment and rental demand is so high that I should be able to rent it out for only a few hundred less than my mortgage.

$10k? Amateur. I think my wife and I have 2-3x that in student loans alone. Not to mention credit cards, car loans, and a sizable mortgage.
