Kinja'd!!!

After exhaustive research my wife helped me to answer a mystery that I’m sure has had many here scratching their heads.

The mystery: Do cats prefer blue or yellow icing on cupcakes?

The experiment: My wife left two cupcakes on the counter while we ran an errand.

The result:

Kinja'd!!!

As you can clearly see the cats preferred the blue icing.

(Note the sample size was two cupcakes left out around two cats and will require further experimentation to be considered conclusive.)

Did you know that cats can’t taste sugar?

I had heard that before.

I’m pretty sure I know which of our two did it. He will eat many things you wouldn’t expect a cat to eat.

Ours don’t go for frosting, but they love any kind of baked goods. We can’t leave biscuits on the counter after we take them out of the oven.

On a related note, the cat that I had when I was growing up once ate half of a loaf of bread. She chewed right through the plastic bag.

The cat I suspect did this will tear into bread bags and steal slices out to eat. I actually had to add a magnetic closure on the cabinet where we keep bread because he would get in it and drag the loaf under the bed.

When I was cleaning today I found part of a hoagie bun he had stolen and ate most of.

I swear our cat is a vegan. We could leave a turkey dinner out, and he wouldn’t touch it. Goes nuts for spinach though.
